The second edition of All-Star Academy shows took place just this last Friday on Halloween eve. The students and even a couple guest appearances highlighted what was said to be a fantastic outing for ACW and its growing fanbase all across Canada. Attendance was up from last show’s 568, jumping up to 671 and those extra fans certainly added to what was a great atmosphere on tonight’s show. In addition to a decent card, the opening match consisted of a ten-man battle royale featuring some of the budding ACW recruits where the last two men remaining would join forces to take on the Heirs of Wrestling (Frank Pierce and Ryan Gallway) for the ACW Tag Team Titles on a future ACW broadcast. ——————- We opened with a quick Battle Royale. The fans got going, showering particularly John Sarsgaard and the SOBs with some good attention, both of those men having great outings while touring on ACW television. Ulf German was unceremoniously disposed of first after cutting an anti-American and Canadian promo prior to match time, as well as running down the other nine competitors. This left nine other gladiators vying for battle. The SOBs quickly showed off their skills in the ring, using some creative double-team sequences to rid the ring of John “The Hammer” Smith and JP Boudreau. Surprise entrant Avis Flyfield had a fantastic showing as well, maneuvering the big man Malk Al-Haq out of the ring with a Hurrcanrana counter to a powerbomb. Avis tried to the skin the cat, but got thrown out and over by Orlando Grant. The OG of ACW took the battle to the end, throwing him over the top rope as well. This left a final four of Sarsgaard, OG and the SOBs. The SOBS worked together and trying for another double-team, but OG shoved Selby over the top rope. Sheamus, after a huge scuffle with Sarsgaard, was tossed over. Ulf German vs. JP Boudreau Andy Sharp promo Jack Harris vs. Vick Victory Harris snatched the mic and derided the fact that he had been confined to the Academy, citing he’d come moments away from wrestling for the Scorpion Fighting Title. He promised big things to come and stated very soon, he’d be holding gold amongst the best in ACW. Do you want to argue with him? The SOBs vs. The End and John “The Hammer” Smith The fans went home happy for the evening after a hot tag team match closed out the show. After show reports state that Joe Bishop and SilverHAWK were very pleased with the progression of some of the students, paying special props to not only The SOBs for their advanced progression, but also John Sarsgaard and Orlando Grant playing a potentially great “hard working man/entertainer” duo. All in all, a great night for the up-and-coming stars of ACW. Read more: E-Wrestling Torch |
