Style and Strategy

Steve is a mix between a technical wrestler and a brawler. Despite how he may sound, he is a very dangerous athlete and is a take no prisoners style fighter in the ring. If he can go out of his way in the match to make his opponent hurt even more, he will do it.

History

Early Years

Steve Powers did not have the best of everything growing up. His parents barely made a decent wage to provide for themselves, much less for their only son Steve. But despite the hardship of growing up poor, Steve enjoyed the good times of going to wrestling events and going to boxing matches. Steve's father was a professional wrestler and his uncle was a professional boxer, so fighting was in Steve's blood and Steve got to enjoy the best of both worlds. But STeve's entire world came apart around him when his father died in an accident inside a wrestling ring. And poor Steve got an up close view of hi sfather's death, for Steve sat ringside during the match.

When Steve turned eighteen, desptie his mother's and uncle's words of wraning, Steve began training to be a professional wrestler himself, to follow in his beloved father's footsteps. At the age of nineteen, Steve would wrestle with small local promotions and then, at the age of twenty, Steve Powers would get his big break in NLCW (No Limits Championship Wrestling).

NLCW

It was in NLCW that Steve met and befriended fellow wrestler Adam Craig. The two quickly bonded and became fast friends and, inevitably, a destructive duo in NLCW known as Anti-Authority. Their friendship came to an end when, during one of NLCW's pay per view events, Steve was set to challenge for his very first world heavyweight championship, the NLCW world title. All he had to do was sell his soul to NLCW's evil owner and become his own personal corporate champion. Steve sold his soul and all of the ethics taught to him by his father, mother and uncle and Steve indeed became, for the first time, a world champion. This was also the first time ANYONE in Steve's family, including his wrestler father and his boxer uncle, had ever been recognized as a world champion. Before leaving NLCW, Steve would win a total of three world titles there as well as the Intercontinental Title.

GCW

Steve lost his NLCW World title and later was offered a large sum of money and a sweet contract to sign with Global Championship Wrestling. Steve agreed and moved to GCW, where he was again successful, reforming Anti-Authority with his friend Adam Craig, and winning the GCW World Title as well as the International title.

GDW

GCW was merged later with IDW to form the Global Division of Wrestling but Steve Powers chose at first not to come over with the merger in 2003. Later in 2003, however, Steve would indeed come over and shock the world by dethroning the seemingly unstoppable Angelica Jones to win the GDW World Championship. Steve Powers, with the backing of the GDW Owner Matt Alan, would form a stable known as The Elite. Powers and The Elite reign of terror would not last long before Jake "The Heartthrob" Storm would go on to defeat Powers for the GDW World Title.

MWA

Steve Powers would then seemingly fade away into nonexistence until he learned of Angelica Jones' success in the Millennium Wrestling Alliance. Jealous of his old rival's success, Steve jumped to MWA hoping to force her retirement in a big pay per view match. He did, indeed, defeat Angelica Jones at MWA's Rising Sons pay per view, but that was the peak of his MWA tenure. After a couple more months Steve Powers would leave MWA and return to GDW.

Return to GDW

Back in GDW Steve Powers would join forces with Joey Michaels and Jake Storm to form a new faction known as The Syndicate. The group dominated the tag team scene, holding the world tag team title, but just as before the success would not last long before egos got in the way. Steve would later leave GDW and again take a break from wrestling.
